Peaceful Mindset Counseling is located at 1214 Dina Ct Ste B, Hiawatha, IA 52233.
Peaceful Mindset Counseling opened in 2019 with the goal of providing compassionate, ethical, and quality therapy and support to clients and mental health providers.
We accept insurance and private pay. Insurances accepted include: Wellmark/ BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, Midlands Choice, Health Partners (non Unity Point plans), Health Alliance, and all Iowa Medicaid plans (Iowa TotalCare, Amerigroup, and Molina of Iowa).
At this time we do not accept Medicare plans. We have limited availability for United/ Optum plans. Currently only Echo Kent, Katie Taylor and Catherine Vander Zee are able to accept United Health/ Optum insurance.
Our staff:
Echo Kent, is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) and has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, becoming a therapist in 2013. Echo received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Iowa State University and a Bachelor's in Criminology from University of Northern Iowa and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Mercy University. Echo provides outpatient therapy services to individuals, couples and families focusing on trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, depression, and anxiety. Echo utilizes an Experiential approach and is trained in IFS, EMDR and IFIO (Intimacy from the Inside Out). In addition, Echo offers clinical supervision to temporary licensed or fully licensed marriage and family therapists or mental health counselors.
Katie Taylor is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Katie graduated from Mount Mercy University with her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Katie enjoys working with a wide range of populations and ages using a Solution Focused therapy approach. Katie has special interest in working with people experiencing anxiety, OCD and relationship issues. Katie is currently on maternity leave through November 1st, 2023. Catherine Vander Zee is a licensed independent social worker (LISW) who has completed her Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of Iowa and her Master's in Social Work from Colorado State University. She specializes in working with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Catherine is trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focus. By integrating these approaches, she strives to help individuals overcome their challenges and improve their overall mental health and well-being. Raquel Watson is a licensed masters social worker/therapist (LMSW) and has worked in a variety of settings such as impatient, outpatient, youth shelters, adult shelters, and community based therapy settings. Raquel graduated with her Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and then moved to New Orleans, graduating from Tulane University with her Masters degree in Social Work. After going through Hurricane Katrina, Raquel chose to focus her studies on trauma and trauma-based issues, while having an opportunity to complete an internship at the New Orleans Trauma Institute and Eating Disorders Program. Raquel’s specific interest is working with high school students (14+), college students and those who are new to therapy. Her primary clinical approaches include person-centered, trauma informed, experiential, and strength based with the idea of using a diverse set of evidence-based practices and interventions. Caroline Gimarc is a tLMFT who graduated from Kansas State University with her PhD in Couple and Family Therapy and Texas Tech University with her master's degree in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy. Caroline enjoys working with couples, individual adults, and adolescents 14 and over. Her clinical interests include grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and major life transitions. Caroline utilizes experiential and emotionally focused approaches when working with clients. Caroline has evening and weekend availability. Caroline is currently accepting new clients. Emmalyne Farwell is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) who completed her Bachelor's in Social Work from Northwestern College and Master's in Social Work from the University of Missouri. Emmalyne has experience in a variety of areas including inpatient settings, outpatient settings, and victim services. Areas of clinical focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and trauma. Emmalyne specializes in working with individuals and families who have experienced various types of abuse, including domestic and sexual abuse. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques including Person-Centered, Solution Focused, Strengths-Based, Adlerian Play Therapy techniques, and trauma-informed care. Carlie Dellmann is a temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor (tLMHC). Carlie has both her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa. Carlie enjoys working with individual adults and children (ages 6 and up) using person-centered and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Carlie has an interest in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, and adjustment-related issues. Jason Fiala is a temporary licensed Marriage and Family therapist (tLMFT). He graduated from Mount Mercy University with his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently in their PhD program. He collaborates with individuals, children ages 10 and older, and couples. Jason practices from an attachment based experiential lens. He employs therapeutic approaches and techniques from Symbolic Experiential Family therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Systemic Sex therapy, and Person-Centered Exploration and Play therapy. He works with all psychological and relationship obstacles as he fully believes that every person is deserving and worthy of love, belonging, and being seen. Autism and neurodivergent welcome. Gillian Murray, is a Therapy Intern studying Marriage and Family Therapy at Mount Mercy University. Gillian enjoys working with clients of all ages, families and couples and utilizes an experiential approach with clients. Gillian is not able to accept insurances, but therapy services are offered on a sliding scale rate between $0-$30. Elizabeth Miller-White, is a Therapy Intern studying for her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Mount Mercy University. Elizabeth enjoys working with adult individuals, children 8 and up, and couples using a Solution Focused approach with clients. Elizabeth's interests are anxiety, ADHD, couple issues including discernment counseling, sandtray, and eating disorders. Elizabeth is not able to accept insurances, but therapy services are offered on a sliding scale rate between $0-$30.
